Featured Speakers
Rev. Ted McCulloch M.Div
The Rev. Ted McCulloch grew up at First Presbyterian Church of DuPage where his father was the pastor for more than 30 years and his mother was the Church Librarian. Ted earned a B.A. in American History from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. He then went on to earn a Masters in Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. That is where he met his wife, DeAnn. Ted currently serves at First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw and as the Stated Clerk for the Presbytery of Huron where he oversees constitutional, judicial, and parliamentary issues for the 46 Presbyterian churches of the region.
Outside of his church work, Ted faithfully cheers on his Chicago Cubs – winning the World Series in 2016 was an unforgettable highlight. He still loves to read history of all eras and can usually be found with a book in hand. He especially enjoys ancient Hebrew and Biblical history. The best part of any day for Ted is time with DeAnn and the chance to watch a movie or a baseball game together.
FPCD is thrilled to be inviting Ted back to the pulpit with his humorous style and desire to share the love of Christ with all God’s people.
Rev. Eric Heinekamp, M.Div
The Rev. Eric Heinekamp has been serving as Transformational General Presbyter and Stated Clerk for Blackhawk Presbytery since August 2020. Prior to this call, Eric served as temporary supply pastor at First Presbyterian Church of DuPage and Director of Business Affairs for the Presbytery of Chicago. He is an ordained pastor in the PC(USA) and is active in the work of our denomination. Eric is a life-long Presbyterian and a second career pastor. Prior to his call to ministry, Eric worked for over 20 years at JP Morgan Chase. He holds an MDiv from McCormick Theological Seminary and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Eric and his wife, Patty, have been married 42 years and live in Naperville. They have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren.
Rev. KJ Norris, M.Div
Pastor KJ has a passion for creating spaces where people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds can come together to worship God and love one another. She has been serving faithfully here at FPCD as our solo pastor since November of 2022.
Before coming to Chicagoland, KJ was a high school physics teacher in Philadelphia, PA. She earned her M.Div. at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, with a certificate in Urban Ministry. She was awarded the Michael Wilson Keith Memorial Homiletical Prize for preaching and was published as the Chief Editor of the Pittsburgh Theological Journal.
After being ordained in 2017, KJ pastored Kerr Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh which prayerfully turned its manse into a counseling center. She also served as the Interim Program Coordinator for the Metro-Urban Institute which gives voice to people of color and those too often on the margins to share their stories and link together to form healthy communities. Pastor KJ was known for her service in the community including volunteering at the Allegheny County Jail, encouraging other pastors and churches in their calls through the Pittsburgh Presbytery Commission on Ministry, and serving with the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank.
