Mr. Rogers, the famous children’s program host, explained to children, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping'” (Quote from Goodreads).

As we have been watching the hurricanes and flooding across the United States and also across many nations of North West/Central Africa, it is easy to become overwhelmed by sorrow. However, we can also watch for the helpers and be a part of the healing.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is on the ground serving in places devastated by Hurricane Helene. And as we heard on Wednesday night, PDA also works with local partners on the ground like Presbyterian Peacemaker Peter Michael Egwudah who serves as the Program Coordinator of the Civil Society Coalition for Poverty Eradication (CISCOPE).

Learn how Presbyterians like you are making a difference and consider how you can do your part to be one of the helpers on the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Page through giving, acting, and praying.
